Project's Goals

The mainstream tourism industry is increasingly challenged by social and environmental transitions. At the same time, small-scale, community-based and hyper-local tourism initiatives are developing innovative models with a strong positive social impact.

EU Impact Travel aims to give visibility to these practices, support their development and enable the transfer of successful models to other European contexts. The project strengthens collaboration among social tourism entrepreneurs and adult education providers through shared learning and capacity building.

The first training course developed by the network focuses on Feminist City Tours, exploring tourism as a space for gender equality, civic awareness and sustainable urban development.

Target Groups

EU Impact Travel primarily targets organisations active in adult education, social inclusion and lifelong learning.

As a platform for co-creation, activism and knowledge exchange, the project also addresses a broader community of stakeholders, including students, associations, collectives, tour guides, tour operators and cultural professionals interested in feminism, inclusive tourism and sustainable development.

At the end of the project, a set of practical recommendations and guidelines will support individuals and organisations in designing and developing similar impact-driven tours in any European city or region.
